TAP Peer Learning Session: Infusing Core Values into Talent Management
Session Overview:
Let's get together to share stories and insights on how we can seamlessly integrate our companys’ core values into various aspects of the employee lifecycle. This session will focus on exchanging experiences and creative ideas for embedding core values specifically into performance management and employee development.
Session Objectives:
- Share and discuss the importance of bringing core values to life in our organizations
- Exchange experiences and ideas on how to integrate core values into the employee life cycle.
- Workshop translating vague core values into observable behaviours.
Session Agenda:
- Welcome and Introduction (5 minutes)
- Quick welcome and overview of what to expect.
- Storytime: ESG’s Core Values in Action (15 minutes)
- Share ESG’s journey of values inception to where we are now as a values-based organization, and how core values have influenced our approach to performance management and employee development.
- Open discussion on the impact of these stories.
- Creative Approaches to Infusing Core Values (15 minutes)
- Exchange examples and anecdotes of how different companies have successfully integrated core values into performance management and employee development, or elsewhere in the employee lifecycle.
- Group discussion on the challenges and benefits of these approaches.
- Workshop: Turning Core Values into Observable Behaviors (20 minutes)
- What happens when core values are fluffy, vague, “inspirational phrases”?
- Breakouts or single group discussion where to share our companys’ core values.
- Collaborate on exercises to translate these values statements into specific, observable behaviours that can be put into practice.
- Share findings and feedback within the group (if breakouts).
- Best Practices and Actionable Takeaways (5 minutes)
- Recap key insights and best practices shared during the session.
- Develop an action plan to take back to your organization.
- Q&A and Wrap-Up (5 minutes)
- Open floor for questions, additional sharing, and final thoughts.
