TAP Network would like to hear from individuals interested in joining the TAP Network Board of Directors to help support the strategic direction of the organization. Our mission is to connect, support and champion the needs of People and Culture (P&C) professionals driving the growth and success of Canada’s tech sector. The Board’s strategy is currently focused on building a national community with fiercely loyal members, a premier Canadian tech and creative tech salary survey and the revenues and resources to thrive. . This is an exciting opportunity as we work to further expand TAP Network nationally on the success of our eastern conferences and events.

The Board of Directors is the ultimate legal authority for TAP Network. As a member of the Board, a Director acts in a position of trust in the community, and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.  

The Board is interested in hearing from candidates who offer the following:

• Hold a senior leadership role in People & Culture (P&C) in the tech sector; typically someone with extensive professional working experience 

• Ideally this is a P&C leader with a depth of experience working in and located in Ontario or Quebec 

• Preferential candidates have strong networks in the tech and / or People & Culture ecosystem

• Previous experience working with a Board or sitting on a Board is considered an asset

• Familiar with or connected with an organization that has TAP Network membership experience

• Approve TAP Network annual budget

• Participate in the development of TAP Network’s strategic plan 

Requirements:

• Attendance in person or virtually, at the approximately 6 Board meetings annually including virtual Annual General Meeting 

• Commitment to the work of the organization

• Work constructively and collaboratively with the other Board Directors and Board Chair

• Work to support and provide feedback to the CEO of TAP Network

• Review Board meeting materials ahead of meetings, and come to meetings prepared with meaningful questions

• Review financial statements as they are presented by the CEO and be prepared to engage in discussion/questions

• Commitment to share your wisdom, creativity, problem-solving and idea-generating expertise!

• Attendance at membership events in your region

• Support of special events

• Review and sign acknowledgement of TAP Network ’s Board Handbook
