Executive Compensation in Times of Uncertainty (Total Rewards Series webinar)

How to approach executive compensation when the only constant is change

Thursday, September 25, 2025

9am-10:30am PT / 10am-11:30am MT / 12pm-1:30pm ET

When it comes to executive compensation programs, what approach should organizations take when dealing with uncertainty caused by government and policy changes, stock market volatility, tariffs, and other uncontrollable factors? Many of the goals that companies set months ago, are no longer achievable, or perhaps the results aren’t what they expected for reasons out of their control.

How do you objectively and fairly evaluate executive pay when things are a bit bananas? What should executives be held accountable for, and what is forgivable? How do companies balance making exceptions without making excuses? How frequently should companies be re-forecasting or resetting objectives in an environment of constant churn?

Join us for our next installment of TAP Network’s Total Rewards Series, where compensation experts from Southlea will address these issues and more, and help you build an approach on how to tackle executive compensation in times of change and uncertainty.

Our panelists are:

Ryan Resch, a founder and Senior Partner of Southlea, a GECN Group company. Ryan has over 20 years of experience consulting complex organizations across North America on executive and broad-based compensation including related governance considerations. He is often the named executive compensation consultant representing either the human resources committee and/or management. Prior to forming Southlea, Ryan worked in Willis Towers Watson’s Toronto and Vancouver offices leading many of the practice’s large client relationships.

Taylor Richards,  a Senior Consultant at Southlea. Prior to joining Southlea, she worked at a large, global multi-service consulting firm for over 5 years, managing projects for boards and senior management teams related to effective executive and broad-based compensation program design and governance. Taylor has experience supporting companies with a variety of compensation related initiatives, including total rewards philosophy and peer group development, competitive benchmarking of board, executive, and broad-based pay, compensation structure development, short- and long-term incentive plan design, and governance of compensation programs
