Equity Programs for Privately Held Companies

Tuesday, March 5, 2024
9am-10:30am PT / 10am-11:30am MT / 12pm-1:30pm ET

Join us for our next installment of the Total Rewards Series, focused on equity programs for privately held companies. A well-designed equity program can attract and retain employees by creating a shared interest in a company’s overall success. The design of your equity program should consider factors like funding stage, overall pool size, and employee participation profile, but for a program to have value, it also needs to be communicated in a way where  employees understand the value tied to this component of their total rewards package.

Join our experts from Southlea as they provide an overview of this complex rewards vehicle. In this session they'll discuss:

Utilizing Stock Options & RSUs as long term Incentive vehicles, reviewing considerations such as:

  • Company life stage
  • Payout volatility
  • Retentive value
  • Dilutive impact

The lifecycle of equity awards, including:

  • Granting events
  • Determining grant levels
  • Determining award value
  • Vesting schedules
  • Stock option expiration

Other considerations, including:

  • Reserves
  • Termination provisions
  • Exit opportunities
  • Pitfalls in equity program design
  • Questions to ask your HR&CC committee

If you’re a privately held company that’s thinking of reviewing, revising, or introducing an equity program, this is the session for you! Your CFO or another financial leader within your organization may also want to attend this session. You are welcome to register them as well.

We look forward to seeing you there!
