AI and Privacy – What Tech Employers Need to Know

Tuesday, February 10th, 2026
9am-10am (PT) | 10am-11am (MT) | 12pm-1pm (ET)

Roper Greyell LLP is a firm specializing in workplace law and they're a long-time sponsor of TAP Network. Back in the fall, at Tech Talent North West, they presented to a full house on the topic of AI, privacy and legal risk, and received excellent feedback on the session. We've invited them back for an encore presentation on this topic, so those who weren't able to attend their session at Tech Talent North, can learn  more on this important topic.

Artificial intelligence tools are exciting and increasingly inevitable for most organizations, but careful guardrails are needed to ensure that employers are protected. While AI tools provide great efficiencies, the more they are relied on for decision making or sensitive information processing, the greater the risk profile they create for organizations.

This presentation will:

  • discuss the legal risk/reward use case for AI in the workplace,
  • review recent guidance where AI missteps resulted in liability for employers, and
  • outline some practices and processes that employers can take to protect themselves and their information.

We will also discuss the risks related to access and misuse of confidential information based on recent court cases. This panel discussion will be followed by Q&A. Come prepared with your questions!

Our speakers are Justin Wong and Jordan Michaux from Roper Greyell.

We look forward to seeing you there!
